Materials:
1 oz. white worsted weight yarn
1 oz. turquoise worsted weight yarn
Size H crochet hook
Gauge: 2 rnds dc=1"
This purse is designed for a 6" doll. The one in the picture was purchased at WalMart in the doll/toy section.
Note: Weave in ends as work progresses.
Rnd 1: With white, ch 22, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 17 chs, 6 dc in last ch, working along opposite side of ch, dc in next 17 ch, 6 dc in last ch, join w sl st in top of beg ch 3 (48 dc).
Rnds 2-6: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before, fasten off after Rnd 6 (48 dc).
Rnd 7: (Work this round in front loops only). Join turquoise w sl st in 1st dc of Rnd 6, ch 3, 2 dc in same dc, * ch 1, sk 2 dc, 3 dc in next dc, rep from * around, ending w ch 1, join as before, fasten off (16 3-dc groups plus 16 ch 1 sp).
Rnd 8: (You'll now be working in both loops again). Join white w sl st in any ch 1 sp of Rnd 7, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, * ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, rep from * around, ending w ch 1, join as before, fasten off (16 3-dc groups plus 16 ch 1 sp).
Rnd 9: Join turquoise in any ch 1 sp of Rnd 8, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, * ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, rep from * around, ending with ch 1, join as before, fasten off (16 3-dc groups plus 16 ch 1 sp).
Rnd 10: Join white w sl st in any ch 1 sp of Rnd 9, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, * ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, rep from * around, ending w ch 1, join as before, fasten off (16 3-dc groups plus 16 ch 1 sp).
Rnd 11: Join turquoise w sl st in any ch 1 sp of Rnd 10, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, * ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 sp, rep from * around, ending w ch 1, join as before, fasten off (16 3-dc groups plus 16 ch 1 sp).
Rnd 12: Join white w sl st in any ch 1 sp of Rnd 11, ch 1, (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in same ch 1 sp, (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in each ch 1 sp around, join w sl st in 1st sc, fasten off (16 shells).
Drawstrings (make 2):
With turquoise, ch 65, fasten off.
Star (make 3):
Ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, * ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hk, hdc in next ch, sl st into ch 4 ring, rep from * 4 times, fasten off (5 points).
Finishing:
Sew one star to front of purse as shown. Starting at equal and opposite sides of purse, weave drawstrings through Rnd 11, attaching one star to end of each drawstring before knotting the ends of the drawstrings together.
