Free Eighteen Inch Doll Sweetheart Set Crochet Pattern

Materials:

2 oz. red worsted weight yarn

1/2 oz. pink worsted weight yarn

Size H crochet hook

Size C crochet hook

Size: This set is designed to fit an 18" doll (American Girl Doll pictured).

Gauge: 2 rnds dc with size H hook = 1"

Note: Weave in loose ends as work progresses. Be sure to note hook size changes throughout pattern.

Hat

Rnd 1: With red and size H hook, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join w sl st in top of beg ch 3 (12 dc).

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same dc, 2 dc in next dc and in each dc around, join as before (24 dc).

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, join as before (32 dc).

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, ending w dc in last 2 dc, join as before (42 dc).

Rnds 5-7: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before, fasten off after Rnd 7 (42 dc).

Heart Applique

Rnd 1: With pink and size C hook, ch 4, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1, dc, ch 3, sl st, ch 3, dc, ch 1) in ring, join w sl st in top of ch 3, fasten off.

Sew heart to front of hat as shown.

Skirt

Rnd 1: With red and size H hook, ch 40, join w sl st in 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, dc in each ch around, join w sl st in top of beg ch 3 (40 dc).

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, * dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, rep from * around, ending w dc in last dc, join as before (53 dc).

Rnds 3-11: Ch 3, dc in each dc around, join as before, fasten off after Rnd 11 (53 dc).

Drawstring

With pink and Size H hook, ch 71, fasten off. Starting at front, center of skirt, weave drawstring through Rnd 1 of skirt. With pink and size C hook, work 2 hearts the same as for Heart Applique. Attach one heart to each end of drawstring.

Necklace

Rnd 1: With pink and size H hook, work one heart the same as for heart applique, fasten off. With right side of heart facing, join pink w sl st in dc to right of ch 3 on right hand side of heart, ch 31, join w sl st in dc past ch 3 on left hand side of heart, fasten off.
